First of all Lionel Messi set a new record again on Tuesday night. With a brilliant free-kick to open the scoring, second after a neat ball by Ivan Rakitic and then added a third with just minutes of regular time remaining. It’s Messi’s eighth hat-trick in the Champions League, and that’s more than any other player has ever managed.

Five goals in 6 games and 3 were decisive goals.

It was a hard fought win against PSV for Barcelona. The score was 1-0 from 32minutes to 74minutes Barcelona struggled to create much against the very organized Dutch side. But as PSV opened up late in the game, Barcelona added two goals in 3 minutes of time and fourth one in 87th minutes of the game. With Lionel Messi, who scored a hat-trick, Ousmane Dembele added to his growing season goal-tally. This is his 5th goal for this season and out of which three goals are decisive goals of the game. 

PSV were remarkably resilient in defense, committing just about every player to defend. Barcelona found it difficult to break through the lines. PSV were incredibly quick in the counter-attack with winger Steven Bergwijn and Hirving Lozano. Hirving Lozano created most of the trouble, and he was the reason behind Umtiti’s second yellow and red card. He will miss the trip to Wembley to face Tottenham on Wednesday, October 3.

Hirving Lozano, Next FC Barcelona signing?

In the first half, Barcelona looked out of option and luck, with many fouls and frustrated players. The Dutch side remained dangerous whenever they crossed the midfield line. Until the half-hour mark that is, when foul on Dembele gave a free kick from 20-yards which were perfect for Messi.

Second half,  the game was wide open with Barcelona only one goal and PSV playing the counter-attack. Both the keeper got tested too. But the game-changer, ones again was Dembele. He received the ball near midfield and went on a brilliant solo run and curled placed the ball with an excellent finish. Just moments later Messi added another. 

Hirving Lozano who gave a hard time to both Jordi Alba and Samuel Umtiti multiple times and the red card to Umtiti. He can be the future signing for Barcelona.  About Suarez, this was his 11th Champion’s League game in a row since he last scored.
